Some classes require you to order a pattern or do some pre -work. Remember this is like a college course. You have paid for the class now you have to get your books and supplies.
If you have not made your reservations at the resort PLEASE do so ASAP!! Registration check in with me will be from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Wednesday in the convention center. If you arrive after 5:00 you can see me later in the evening for your name tag, etc. or I will find you in class Thursday morning. Please wear your name tag at all times. The Vendors will be open from 3:00 until 8:00 on Wednesday!!! Vendor hours will be from 9 - 6 Thursday and Friday and 9 -5 Saturday. Signs will be posted in front of the class rooms as to which classes are in each room. I will also have a list at check in. The classes are easy to find.
Classes are from 9:00 am until 12 noon and 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday. You will have 1 ½ hour for lunch. Don’t be late and we ask that you not leave during the first hour of class so the teachers don‘t have to repeat their beginning instructions.
If you have friends coming to shop the vendors please plan to meet them at lunch or after class so the class time is not disrupted.
Also please do not wear perfume or anything strong scented as we will be in close quarters and some people are very sensitive.
Wednesday evening we will meet at 7:30 for general information and teacher “Show and Tell” You DON’T want to miss this!
Thursday right after class at 5:00 we will have “SWAP & SHOP.” This has been a FUN thing for several years!! It’s a great opportunity to recycle and get some money to spend at the vendors!! Bring any sewing related items (machines, books, magazines, patterns, notions, buttons etc) priced and ready to sell. Each person will be responsible for their own things and money so bring change. Come find a space and “set up shop”. Please e mail me and let me know if you plan to participate so I can be sure we have enough tables set up. (I will have extra for last minute decisions) Anything you have to give away will be put on a “Free” table. The sale will last until around 6:30. Please do not leave any items after the sale unless you want them to go on the FREE table.
Friday night we will have “SHOW & TELL” at 7:30 PM . This is a great time to show off those projects you have finished. This is also the time to sell raffle quilt tickets for your group. Please do not bring any food or drinks. We don't want anything to happen to these wonderful quilts!
Saturday night we will have our banquet and door prizes!!!
Most of the materials lists include some kind of basic sewing supplies such as needles, thread, rotary cutter, mat, pins, etc. Please be sure your machine is in good working order (cleaned and new needle). Be sure to bring your power cord and foot control for your machine. Anything you cannot find? Contact the teacher or one of the vendors.
Bring a digital camera if you have one to help with block placement.
Bring a multi-plug surge protector if you have one.. Be sure to have your name on everything. Bring a small iron.. the regular ones pull too much power and can “pop” a circuit.
If you have any questions about a class or materials please contact the teacher.
If you have any other questions PLEASE feel free to contact me at 704-607-5987 or myrtlebeachquiltparty@gmail.com
Can’t wait to see you all!!!!

Reminder of Classroom Etiquette
BE ON TIME! Classes start at 9:00 am. Allow enough time to get there at least 5-10 minutes BEFORE class starts. Latecomers please enter quietly and wait for an appropriate time to check with the teacher.
BRING ALL NECESSARY ITEMS TO CLASS. Double check your supply list. If you forget something or can’t find something the vendors will be here to help but please wait until lunch or a “break” to go. If it can’t wait let the teacher know and we will try to help.
TURN OFF ALL SOUND ON CELL PHONES at the beginning of the class. If you must take an emergency call, please go far enough from the classroom doors so you don’t disturb other classes.
KEEP NOISE TO A MINIMUM Talking or sewing during teacher instructions is distracting. Just because you may already know how to do a certain thing doesn’t mean others do.
LET THE TEACHER TEACH You may know a “better or easier” way but students have paid to learn the teacher’s way of doing things.
DO NOT REPRODUCE CLASS HANDOUTS WITHOUT PERMISSION Your teacher has worked hard at producing the class for YOUR enjoyment and knowledge.
DO NOT BRING FOOD OR BEVERAGES TO CLASS OR SHOW AND TELL.. Water only.
IF YOU MUST LEAVE EARLY PLEASE DO SO AS QUIETLY AS POSSIBLE.
PLEASE SAVE YOUR VISITING WITH FRIENDS FOR LUNCH.
Plan to meet them at the vendors.
DO NOT LOITER IN OPEN DOORWAYS OR TALK LOUDLY IN THE HALLWAYS.
There is a lot of space to talk in the convention center lobby.
DON’T STRESS AND HAVE A GREAT TIME!!
